From the West Country to Surrey

Cider brought us together

We met in 2011 on a weekend walking through the orchards of Herefordshire. Jon was living in Surrey, working as a university lecturer in environment and sustainability. Nick was living in Bristol, the capital of cider country, working in IT. He was also a hobbyist cider maker, using apples from gardens at the University of Bristol, home of the now legendary Long Ashton Cider Institute.

We got married in 2014 on a community farm in Bristol. We made 400 litres of cider and served it to the wedding guests! The apples were donated, scrumped and scrounged from all over Bristol.

We lived in Bristol for many years, before fate brought us to Surrey. In 2019 we moved to a six-acre farm in Wood Street Village near Guildford. We now had the space to create our own orchard!
